Spiced Apple Marmalade

Ingredients

  • 4 cups FPD East Royal Gala apples (peeled, cored, and chopped)

  • 1 cup water

  • 3/4 cup sugar

  • 1 FPD East Eureka lemon, zested and juiced

  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch

  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

  • 1/8 teaspoon allspice

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

  • pinch of salt

Directions

In a saucepan over medium-high heat, combine apples and water. Bring to a simmer and stir occasionally until fruit is tender and mixture has slightly reduced.

Reduce heat to medium and add sugar, lemon zest and juice, cornstarch, cinnamon, vanilla, and salt. Stir to combine and cook for about 25 minutes, stirring frequently until mixture is jammy and thick.

Once jam has reached desired consistency, remove from heat and allow to cool to room temperature before placing in refrigerator to chill.
